Australian ultrarunner Phil Gore, who recently completed a 152-hour solo run, is hospitalized after 500ml of pus was drained from his left thigh. Gore, who ran over 1,000km, sought medical attention for persistent pain. Initially thought to be a haematoma, the swelling turned out to be an infection.

Gore underwent a procedure at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, where a 12cm incision was made to drain the pus. He remains in the hospital for observation. Gore expressed gratitude for the medical staff and apologized to supporters for delayed responses. Despite the setback, Gore's run raised nearly $300,000 for medical research.
