Accuracy, clear attribution and editorial independence guide our work. News briefs identify the underlying publisher and link to the complete source report. We do not present source reporting as firsthand Runner World reporting.

AI-assisted summaries
Automated systems may help draft source-grounded news summaries and research guides. Instructions prohibit invented facts, quotes, results, product tests, diagnoses and citations. Automated output is subject to structural, citation and source checks before publication.
A source excerpt is treated as untrusted reference material, not as an instruction. Articles remain attributable to their underlying source, and readers should consult that source for the complete report.
Health and evidence
Health, injury, nutrition and training-effect claims in evidence guides must link to peer-reviewed sources. Citations indicate the research used; they do not make a guide individualized medical advice or a substitute for a clinician.
Where evidence is limited, observational, population-specific or conflicting, the guide should say so. Surgery, pregnancy, chronic illness, medication, concerning symptoms and return from injury require individualized professional guidance.
Images and rights
Publisher-supplied images may appear in reduced, contextual form with attribution when relevant to commentary, news reporting and discovery. Use is evaluated case by case under fair-use and similar doctrines; ownership remains with the respective rights holder.
A rights holder may request review or removal through editor@runner-world.com. Include the image, page URL, ownership basis and preferred resolution.
