New York Road Runners opens applications for the 9+1 eligibility drawing on Thursday, Sept. 17. The deadline for applications is Sept. 29. NYRR announced in August that the 9+1 route will be capped by a drawing.

Membership must be active by Sept. 16, and applicants must be 18 by Nov. 5, 2028. The drawing is free, and NYRR will select over 15,000 members on Oct. 1. Passholders must complete nine qualifying races and one volunteer shift in 2027. Read more culture coverage.
