Megan Eckert, a New Mexico teacher, shattered records in the six-day ultrarun. She ran 636.482 miles, surpassing both the US men's and women's records. Eckert completed the race in Balatonfüred, Hungary, at the World Championship.

Eckert's run included 1,140 loops around a track. She averaged 4.420 miles per hour over 144 hours. This was her second time breaking the women's world record. She first set it last year with 603.155 miles. Read more trail coverage.
