Emma Pick and Daniel Connolly ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this week (Saturday 8th March).
Our weekly parkrun top ten is sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future.
Emma Pick ran the fastest parkrun this weekend, with 16:38 at Long Eaton. It is Emma’s fastest ever parkrun, her previous best being 16:57 at Alverston at the start of February. To date this year, the Peel Road Runner has only run parkruns and at the Leicestershire Half Marathon, so there are undoubtedly more good performances to come in 2025.
It is an impressive margin by which she tops the rankings, almost one minute faster than any other woman this weekend.
Daniel Connolly takes the honours on the men’s rankings. He was the only athlete to run under fifteen minutes this weekend, clocking 14:50 at Keswick. He too ran a parkrun ‘PB’, although his 14:32 5k PB from a few years ago remains quicker. He finished fourth at the Wrexham Half Marathon last month.
Best of the Rest
Sarah Barrett, who runs for City of Norwich AC, clocked 17:32 at Norwich parkrun to finish second in the rankings, whilst triathlete Lucy Charles-Barclay ran 17:40 at Gunpowder parkrun, probably having cycled there and back or swam up the River Lea.
Harry Smith was just over 15 minutes with 15:03 at Milton Keynes parkrun, which apparently has less roundabouts than average for any 5km route in the local area and is a quick course for it. Chasing first finisher Connolly at Keswick parkrun was Nathan Postill who ran 15:12 to complete the men’s podium.
The fastest course?
Not Battersea parkrun, for a change! Both Keswick and Long Eaton feature twice, with both hosting a number one spot as well, but Keswick pips it with 1st and 3rd vs 1st and 7th.
