10 fastest UK parkrun times on 16th November (2024)

Abbie Donnelly and Harry Smith ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this weekend (16th November).

Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future

It was a Lincoln Wellington AC double at the top of the women’s rankings this weekend with Abbie Donnelly flying well under 17 minutes and Charlie Thornton just above with 17:06. Donnelly was at Yarborough Leisure Centre parkrun and ran 16:10, not a parkrun PB for the GB international but this year has seen 5k (15:18) and 5000m (15:31.02) PBs.

Harry Smith ran 14:37 at Poole parkrun to clock the fastest male time of the day. There are a lot of Harry Smiths on Power of 10, but we hope the club is right as it is a big parkrun best for this Harry, with 14:48 his previous best in 2022 at the same event.

The best of the rest

Charlie Thornton’s club double wasn’t the only double of the day, as it was also a double podium for Market Rasen Racecourse parkrun (more to follow on that). It is a parkrun PB and comes on the back of a great 76:62 at the Great Eastern Run Half Marathon in October.

Second fastest chap was a shared position this weekend with Rob Payne running 14:57 at Market Rasen and Jack Pickett clocking the same time at Shrewsbury parkrun. Payne, a GB international 24hr runner, is actually an athlete I coach and has been in fine form this winter with a 2:23 at Chester (amongst other PBs) and this is his first time 15 minutes for the 5k distance.

Amy Jackson was the third fastest woman with 17:14 at the super quick Belfast Victoria parkrun that featured heavily last week as well.

The quickest event?

Lots of events featured twice this week, but with two second places, Market Rasen Racecourse narrowly take it from Poole (who had a 1st and a 4th)
