Amanda Brady – HKRS Beavercreek, OH

How many seasons have you been a Community Coordinator?
First season and first year coordinator.
Tell us about yourself! What inspired you to join HKRS?
Hi! My family is all about fitness and staying active. We first learned about the Healthy Kids Running Series (HKRS) when a colleague shared how much their kids loved the program in Texas. That inspired us to see if it was available here in Ohio.
The closest series was in Greenville, which was run by a wonderful coordinator, but the weekly travel distance was a bit too much for us. After a lot of family discussion, we realized this was our chance to give back to our community and share our love of staying active. We are thrilled to take on the coordinator role and help spread the HKRS mission—inspiring the next generation to take their first steps toward a healthy life!
What is the biggest success as a Coordinator (or favorite race day moment)?
Favorite race day moment: Seeing the excitement on all the kids’ faces each weekend.
What makes your community special?
What truly defines Beavercreek is a fierce, committed community spirit, which is profoundly shaped by its large military population tied to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This connection fosters a diverse atmosphere where families are accustomed to getting involved.
You see this most clearly in the exceptional commitment by parents. They don’t just attend local events; they actively dedicate themselves to making the schools and local programs—like running series—not just good, but truly outstanding. It’s a town where people believe in staying active, giving back, and collectively building an exceptional place to live for all residents.
What’s some advice you would like to share with fellow Community Coordinators?
Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.
Fun Fact:
I played Field Hockey at Appalachian State University.
